Auto-Enforcement Rules

Enforcement Rules let Zeal automatically enforce against clear infringements the moment they appear—no manual review needed.

In short: Auto-Enforcement Rules tell Zeal to send a takedown notice automatically whenever a post meets the criteria you set, so clear infringements are enforced without waiting for manual review.

Understanding Auto-Enforcement Rules

Auto-Enforcement Rules let Zeal automatically identify and enforce against clear infringements based on criteria you define. Each rule is a set of conditions that tells Zeal: "When you find a post that meets these criteria, automatically send a takedown notice."

They work like Auto-Moderation Rules, but instead of automatically labelling posts, they start enforcement. This first release focuses on Posts, with more automation on the way.

1. How Auto-Enforcement Rules work

Rules take high-confidence infringements straight to takedown, saving your team time on the obvious cases.

When a post matches one of your rules:

  1. Zeal marks it as Enforce / Eligible for Takedown.

  2. The post immediately appears in Notice View.

  3. Zeal automatically sends the takedown notice to the recipient (marketplaces, social media platforms and domains).

  4. No human review is needed, as long as your rule criteria are met.

This is ideal for high-confidence infringements, such as:

  • Posts labelled "Counterfeit"

  • Sellers repeatedly identified as high risk

  • Posts with known infringing logos or risky keywords

2. What rules can look at

Combining signals lets you target very specific infringement scenarios.

Rules can use any combination of the following parameters.

Image signals

  • Logo detected

  • Image labels: for example "counterfeit", "official photo", "unauthorized use" or others.

Post information

  • Post description & title: keywords, phrases and risky language.

  • Obfuscated brand name indicators

  • Moderation status: Moderated, Checked or Validated.

  • Post label: for example "Counterfeit", "Copyright Infringement", "Trademark Abuse" or others.

  • Price

  • Stock count

  • Post tags

Account signals

  • Account status: the account is Checked or Validated.

  • Account label: for example "Repeat Offender".

  • Follower count thresholds

Note: In this first iteration, Auto-Enforcement Rules apply to Posts only.

3. How to build an Auto-Enforcement Rule

Set up a rule once and Zeal applies it for you from then on.

  1. Go to Settings → Enforcement Rules and click the plus icon to add a new rule.

  2. Choose the outcome: Enforce. It's currently the only outcome available, so it's pre-selected and greyed out.

  3. Choose your conditions (for example "Post Label = Counterfeit"), then add any further conditions, such as logo detected, post is validated or account signals.

  4. Click Add to save the rule.

Important: Once enabled, a rule applies to all incoming and existing content that meets your conditions, so check your conditions carefully before saving.

Example rule

If:

  • Post Label = "Counterfeit"

  • AND Post is Checked → True

  • AND Logo Detected → True

Then the outcome is: automatically enforce and send the takedown notice.
