IP Assets

Configure IP Assets to be automatically detected in items for enforcement

In short: IP Assets are the trademarks and designs your brand protects. Set them up once and Zeal can detect them in listings automatically and match the right certificate for enforcement.

Understanding IP Assets

IP Assets represent the trademarks and designs protected by your brand. Each IP Asset can include multiple certificates by region and type, which serve as the legal basis for protection.

Once your IP Assets are configured, Zeal can automatically detect them in listings and match the appropriate certificate for enforcement, so every takedown is backed by the right rights.

Note: Only users with the Admin, Account Manager and Enforcer roles can make changes to IP Assets.

1. Add an IP Asset

Add each trademark or design you want Zeal to recognise and enforce against.

  1. Go to Settings > IP Portfolio > IP Assets.

  2. Click Add IP Asset. A window opens where you fill in the asset's details (see below).

  3. Click Save.

IP Asset details

  • Image of IP Asset: optional, but recommended so the asset is easy to identify.

  • Name of IP Asset: a name that makes it easy to tell your protected assets apart, for example "Solène text logo" vs "S logo".

  • Brand: the brand this asset belongs to. If no brands are available, add the brand first in Settings > General.

  • Keywords (optional): search terms that are likely to indicate the asset is being sold. This is most useful for products with patent design protection. For trademarks that are better detected through features in images, leave this field empty.

  • Moderation Reasons: the image features detected in listing images that link to this asset. For logo IP Assets, link the Logo detected insight.

2. Upload your IP certificates

Certificates give each IP Asset its legal basis, so add them once your assets are saved.

Once your IP Assets are configured, you can upload the relevant IP certificates for each one.
