Reviewing (QA) with Tasks

Learn how to review/update moderated items for enforcement.

In short: Review tasks let Quality Analysts audit moderated items, correct any wrong labels and pass them on to Validation or Enforcement with a second check mark (✓✓).

Understanding Review tasks

Review (QA Check) tasks let Quality Analysts audit work that has already been moderated. Whether an item was labelled manually by a moderator or automatically by an Auto-Moderation rule, Review tasks make sure decisions are accurate, consistent and aligned with brand guidelines before the item moves forward.

  • Who it's for: Quality Analysts (QAs) and Senior Analysts.

  • The goal: audit moderated items for accuracy, correct wrong labels and keep rules consistent.

  • The UI indicator: once an item passes QA review, it gets its second check mark (✓✓).

1. Create a Review task

A Review task gathers the moderated items you want checked into one focused piece of work.

  1. Go to Review → Create Task → Review.

  2. Set your core filters:

    • Date Range: Last 30 Days is set by default.

    • Moderation: Posts/Images/Accounts/Websites → Moderated.

    • Labels: include all, or choose specific ones (for example all infringing, Phishing and/or Legitimate).

    • Enforcement: Enforcement Status → exclude Marked for enforcement.

  3. Give your task a description, due date, assignee, organisation(s) and data type (posts, images, accounts or websites).

2. Audit the items

This is where you confirm, or correct, the original moderation decision.

Start your session

  1. Under Operations, go to Review → Create a Task → Review.

  2. Click the Play button to begin.

Check the details

Carefully audit the initial moderation decision, verifying the accuracy of:

  • Post labels: did the moderator or Auto-Moderation rule pick the correct infringement type (for example Counterfeit vs. Unauthorised Sale)?

  • Image labels: are official photos or infringing products correctly identified?

  • Detection parameters: are logo detection and product category results accurate?

Note: If an item was misclassified, you can update or change its labels directly in this view before completing the review. Changing a label moves the post (or image) from Moderated to Checked.

3. Apply a review action

The action you choose decides where the item goes next. If the label doesn't need updating, select one of the following:

Action

When to use it

Check (or Review)

Marks the item as quality-checked without flagging it directly for enforcement. It moves to the Validation stage.

Check & Enforce (or Review & Enforce)

Marks the item as quality-checked and flags it directly for proactive enforcement, bypassing client validation.

On Hold

You need to pause the item while you wait for clarification or next steps.

No Action

You've reviewed the item and decided no further action is needed.

Important: Check & Enforce skips client validation, so only use it where proactive enforcement applies.

4. What happens next

Your review moves the item along the workflow.

Once you apply your review action, the page refreshes and the workflow status in the top right-hand corner updates. You'll now see two check marks (✓✓), showing the item has passed QA.

Depending on the action selected and the client's workflow configuration:

  • The item moves to Validation (✓✓✓) for client sign-off, or

  • If Check & Enforce was selected (proactive enforcement), it moves directly to the Enforcement queue.
