Websites

Track infringing domains across marketplaces, social media and webpages, with the details you need to prioritise and enforce.

In short: The Websites view shows infringing activity at domain level, with ownership, hosting and enforcement details for each domain, so you can see where infringement is most active and act against whole domains.

Understanding the Websites view

Some infringements are best tackled at the source. The Websites view gives you an overview of infringing activity across domains, including marketplaces, social media platforms and standalone infringing websites, so you can see where infringement is most active, compare trends between sites and decide which domains to prioritise for investigation and enforcement.

Note: The Website view works at domain level. Individual webpages appear as posts in the Post view.

1. Navigating the Website view

Each column gives you a piece of the picture, from what a domain is and who owns it to how enforcement is progressing.

Overview

  • Image: a screenshot of the domain’s main page, stamped with the date and time.

  • Website ID: the domain’s unique ID (for example, WEB#XXXX). Click it to open the website moderation page.

  • Website: the domain, marketplace or platform where activity was detected.

  • AI Insight: an AI-generated risk assessment or observation about the domain.

  • Posts Associated: the number of detected posts or webpages linked to the domain.

  • Label: the domain’s infringement type or classification (for example, Phishing or Counterfeit).

  • Clusters: the seller networks the domain is connected to.

  • Tags: custom tags your team has applied, for filtering and organising.

Ownership, hosting and contacts

  • Registrant Name: the person or organisation registered as the domain’s owner.

  • Registrant Email: the contact email the owner gave when registering the domain.

  • Registrar Name: the company the domain was bought and registered through (for example, GoDaddy or Namecheap).

  • Registrar Abuse Email: the registrar’s contact for reporting abuse or policy violations.

  • ISP Abuse Email: the hosting provider’s contact for takedown requests.

  • MX Record: shows whether the domain is set up to receive email, a useful sign of phishing risk.

  • Domain Creation Date: the date the domain was first registered.

  • Last Domain Data Updated: the last time Zeal refreshed the domain’s data, such as WHOIS or DNS records.

Enforcement tracking

  • Number of Notices sent: how many takedown notices have been sent to the domain’s registrant, host or registrar.

  • First Notice Sent Date: the date the first notice was sent.

  • Last Notice Sent Date: the date the most recent notice was sent.

  • Days Since First Notice Sent: how long it has been since the first notice was sent.

  • Days Since Moderation: how long it has been since the domain was labelled (for example, as Counterfeit or Trademark Abuse).

  • Enforcement Status: where the domain is in enforcement (for example, Queue, In Progress or Processed).

  • Takedown Date: the date the domain was removed or deactivated.

  • Validation Errors: problems that are stopping the domain from being enforced (for example, Missing screenshot or Missing IP Asset).

IP and detection

  • IP Asset: the intellectual property being infringed, such as a trademark or copyright.

  • IP Document: the legal document proving your brand owns the IP Asset, needed for enforcement.

  • Crawling Date: the date Zeal first detected and scraped the website.

Tip: Check the Validation Errors column before you enforce. Fixing a missing screenshot or IP asset early keeps takedowns from stalling.

2. The website moderation page

Open a domain to review everything about it and take action. Click its Website ID to open the website moderation page.

Status action bar

The bar at the top gives you the key workflow and enforcement actions:

  • Label: a dropdown to classify the infringement (for example, Phishing or Counterfeit).

  • Enforcement Status: where the domain is in your workflow (for example, Moderated, Validated or To Enforce).

  • Enforce / Re-enforce: adds the domain to the enforcement queue straight away.

  • On Hold / No Action: pauses enforcement, or marks the domain as needing no further action.

  • Unmoderate / Unvalidate / Uncheck: moves the domain back one step. For example, Unvalidate returns it to the Checked stage.

The right-hand pane is split into three tabs, so you can move from a quick assessment to a detailed investigation.

Review tab

Use this tab for a fast, high-level assessment of the threat.

  • Domain Intelligence: the domain name, registrar and expiry date.

  • Hosting & Infrastructure: the hosting provider and the website’s estimated location.

  • Related Content: the number of related posts and images, so you can quickly see whether the domain is part of a larger, coordinated network.

  • Activity & Behaviour: the domain category, detection date and tags.

  • IP Asset: the intellectual property being infringed.

  • IP Document: the document proving your brand owns the IP Asset.

Details tab

Use this tab when you need detailed technical evidence for legal action or advanced investigations.

  • Network Records: the domain’s IP addresses, DNS records and MX records. MX records are especially useful for spotting domains also used for email phishing.

  • Organization Data: the organisation registered behind the domain, where this is publicly available.

  • Add Contact Details: add contact information linked to the domain, to keep on record and help identify networks in future.

Activity tab

Use this tab for a full audit trail of how the domain has been handled.

  • Timestamps: every action taken on the domain, logged with the exact time.

  • Status Changes: when the domain changed state, for example when it was labelled as Phishing or Design Infringement.

  • User Attribution: which team member, analyst or automated system validated or enforced the domain.
