Understanding the Price filter
An unusually low price is one of the clearest signs of a counterfeit. The Price filter helps you find those posts by comparing each post’s price with the expected average price for that specific product, rather than ranking by price alone.
1. How it works
Zeal measures how far each price is from the expected price (the price deviation):
Well below the expected price: more suspicious.
Near or above the expected price: less suspicious.
For example, sorted by price deviation:
Post | Compared with expected price | Risk |
Post B | 55% below | Most suspicious |
Post A | 10% below | – |
Post C | 10% above | Least suspicious |
Note: A post priced at £900 isn’t the cheapest item overall, but if that’s abnormally low for that specific product model, it will still rank as high risk.
