In short: The Takedown Status filter shows whether an item is still live or has been removed. Zeal keeps re-checking enforced items for up to a year, most often in the weeks straight after enforcement.
Understanding the Takedown Status filter
Use the Takedown Status filter to confirm removals and spot items that are still live. It applies to Posts, Accounts and Websites.
1. Statuses
Status | What it means |
Up | The item is still live on the platform |
Down | The item has been removed following a takedown |
Unknown | The status couldn’t be confirmed, for example because of a platform error, restricted access or a pending re-check |
Infringement Removed (Posts and Websites) | The infringing content was taken down, even though the page itself is still live |
Online (Websites) | The website is live and accessible |
Offline (Websites) | The website can’t be reached, either temporarily or because it has been removed |
Parked (Websites) | The domain exists but only shows a placeholder page |

2. How often posts are re-checked
Zeal checks enforced posts most often straight after enforcement, when a removal is most likely, then less often over time. Checks stop one year after enforcement.
Enforced posts that are still up
Zeal's automated checks aim for the frequency in the first column. If an automated check isn't possible, the post is checked manually, at least as often as the second column.
Time since enforcement | Zeal aims to check | Checked at least |
0–30 days | Every day | Every 7 days |
31–90 days | Every 7 days | Every 14 days |
91–180 days | Every 30 days | Every 30 days |
181–365 days | Every 60 days | Every 180 days |
Enforced posts that are down
Zeal keeps checking removed posts automatically, so it can spot any that come back online:
Down once or twice in a row: checked on the same schedule as posts that are still up (every day in the first 30 days, then every 7, 30 and 60 days).
Down three or more times in a row: checked less often, every 30, 45, 90 and then 180 days over the year.
Posts that haven't been enforced
Posts that haven't been enforced yet are re-checked on a best-effort basis.
Note: Manual checks only cover enforced posts that are still up. Posts that are down, or that haven't been enforced, rely on automated checks alone, so a website that blocks them may not be re-checked.

3. How often websites are re-checked
Every day: websites that have been enforced, that have enforced posts or accounts on them, or whose accounts are labelled as an infringement.
Every 7 days: websites Zeal rates as highly relevant to your brand.
