How to Upload Accounts

Uploading Accounts in Zeal 2.0.

In short: Upload accounts to Zeal to mark your official partners as legitimate or to add infringing sellers, either by letting Zeal crawl their URLs (one by one or from Excel) or by entering their details manually.

Understanding account uploads

Uploading accounts lets you shape what Zeal knows about the sellers around your brand. You can use it to whitelist official or legitimate distribution partners, or to enrich the Zeal 2.0 database with infringing accounts you've found elsewhere. You can add tags and labels to accounts in bulk as you upload them.

There are three ways to upload accounts:

  • Automated crawling (UI): enter account URLs one by one, for any platform Zeal scrapes automatically.

  • Automated crawling (Excel): upload a list of account URLs in bulk from a template.

  • Manual upload: enter the details yourself for accounts that Zeal 2.0 doesn't scrape automatically.

1. Upload accounts via automated crawling (UI)

Use this for a handful of accounts on supported platforms: you only need the profile URL, and Zeal fills in the rest.

  1. Make sure Crawl URLs is selected in the top right-hand corner.

  2. Add the URL of the account profile and click Add URL. This adds a row to the list below. Repeat for each account you want to add.

  3. Add Tags if you want to search and filter for this group easily, or to record extra information such as where the account was sourced or which project it's associated with. Set tags on each account, or use Give tags to all accounts to tag every account in the upload.

  4. Add labels to classify the accounts, for example as a Counterfeit seller or as a Legitimate / authorised reseller. Again, you can do this for each account or in bulk.

  5. Click Add to Database to process the upload into Zeal 2.0.

Note: Geography and website type are filled in automatically when the account is scraped, so these fields are optional. You can still edit them manually here if you wish.

2. Upload accounts via automated crawling (Excel)

Use this when you have a long list of account URLs to upload in one go.

  1. Click Download Template to download the Excel template.

  2. Fill in the account details. The URL is mandatory; the other fields are optional. The Geo column accepts two-letter ISO country codes (A-2): see the list of ISO 3166 country codes.

  3. Upload the file and click Add to Database.

Important: Check the optional fields carefully for typing errors before you upload.

3. Upload accounts manually

Use this for accounts on platforms that Zeal 2.0 doesn't scrape automatically.

  1. Set the dropdown in the top right-hand corner to Manual upload.

  2. Enter the account information in the interface, and click Show more Info to see every field.

The full set of fields includes:

  • Account Name

  • Geography

  • # Posts (social media)

  • # Followers (social media)

  • Account description/bio

  • Archive link: upload a screenshot of the account.

Tip: Add as much data as you have available, so the account is as complete as possible in Zeal.
